With increasing fuel costs and environmental concerns becoming increasingly important, Allpools and Spas can offer a variety of solutions that will allow you to heat your pool in a way that can be both good for the environment and for the pocket. We can discuss the various options with you in order to ensure that you purchase the system that best suits your needs.
Low cost solar heating
This simple system utilises the heat from the sun to warm the water as it is circulated during the
filter cycle and therefore needs to be exposed to direct sunlight for it to be effective. Simple to
maintain, this system is available for DIY installations and can be retrofitted to pools or used in
conjunction with other heating systems such as electric or gas. If it is located in a sunny position,
it normally needs circa 50% of the surface area of the pool and can be
either laid on the ground/flat
roof or mounted on
brackets on pitched roofs.
Flat panel
This is a more efficient and sophisticated way to heat the pool water. Although more expensive to
purchase, it does require less space, is less reliant on full sunshine and can provie heating over a
longer season.
Biomass Heating
These systems can utilise logs, wood pellets and also woodchippings. A log based system can provide
a virtually free running cost if there is a suitable source of timber, whilst a wood pellet system
can be fed from a hopper, giving a virtually automatic system. Although more expensive to install
than conventional fossil fuel systems, they can save on fuel costs as well as helping to reduce the
fuel costs.
